Once upon a time, I lived in the suburbs of Chicago. I lovingly call my hometown “The Land that Time Forgot” because my hometown is about 30 years behind the times. It’s rare for moms to work. Moving to the East Coast, it’s rare if moms DON’T work. Now, I’m learning how to be a good East Coast Mama.

Living in the DC suburbs has been a learning experience. Since moving here to be a graduate student, I have learned and changed a lot. Now I am a mom of a wonderful baby boy (and a furry dog), a wife to the best husband ever, a teacher to some very goofy high schoolers, and a runner of many miles. This page is my way of expressing all of the adventures I have in these roles.  Whether it’s waking up in the middle of the night to give my son his pacifier, waking up early to get in a run before the day begins, grading goofy papers, or making a “gourmet” meal for dinner, life is always exciting!
